This information about haemodialysis from Edrep is intended for renal practitioners of all levels. Most will be working in renal units, but it will also be a useful reference resource for other healthcare practioners. If you are new to Renal, check out our Core pathway first.
History of haemodialysis
Haemodialysis was first used successfully in 1945 but became accepted as a treatment for acute renal failure in the 1950s and for chronic renal failure in the 1960s.
