Here we identify some overlapping training pathways in renal medicine. You may follow one of these, or pick from several. For each, the aim is to outline a core curriculum (= the basic minimum that you must know in order to practise competently in a particular area), and point towards resources to support learning in each area. Many of these resources are shared between different core curricula, but each will also have unique aspects.
For some pathways we will add information beyond the core curriculum, relating to more advanced experience, or to specialisms within the profession (e.g. anaemia nurse, vascular access coordinator).
The resources we link to are from all over the web, but chosen by us.  Our resources, and anything on EdRen, are written by us.  You can find a glossary of renal words here.

Assessments are used to prove to others what you know, or what you can do. We are not in a position to provide any assessment for those not enrolled in Edinburgh courses, but may do more in the future.
